Photo shoot for Three Lifetimes B
Last week, Travis stepped in front of the camera for my photographer, and the whole project suddenly felt like it snapped into focus. I’d already storyboarded the scenes for the second part of my Three Lifetimes series, and I knew exactly which model I wanted for this chapter. What I didn’t know was that he had so many tattoos. Honestly, it was like discovering bonus DLC on a character you thought you already knew. My very first job will be to strip all of that ink out of the sketch, a fun little challenge I wasn’t expecting, but one that’s already sparking new ideas.
We shot everything against a green screen, which gives me the perfect reference for the charcoal sketch I’ll create on my iPad before I dive into the final pieces. It’s a workflow I love. Rough energy first, refinement later, and then the real magic begins.
This series has a completely different vibe from my other work. Each chapter arrives as a trio, three pieces that are meant to live together as one complete, interconnected story. They explore how a single soul might exist across different realities, dimensions, or even entire eras. It’s a concept that’s been buzzing around my head for ages, and seeing it come to life with real models, real poses, and unexpected surprises (like full-arm tattoos) makes the whole process feel electric.
Part two is officially underway, and I’m having a ridiculous amount of fun bringing these worlds into existence.
