From Accountant to Digital Artist

Hi, I’m Mark - originally from London and Kent grown, I am now a self-taught digital artist while based in Cardiff, Wales. After a career in accountancy and a personal journey through mental health recovery, I found peace and purpose in creating art.

What started as a way to fill my shop with original postcards, fridge magnets and canvas prints has grown into a passion for producing high-quality, hand crafted, hand-drawn digital artwork - from scenic views of Tenby to bold, geeky, and gender & sexuality inspired pieces.

Now under the name maccb71Art, and based in Cardiff, I produce hand-crafted, hand-drawn original digital artwork using an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil — no AI, no filters, just freehand creativity.

Art Is My Connection To The World

Art became my therapy - a way to express myself, find calm, and reconnect with the world. Every piece I create is a reflection of that journey and how I see the world around me.

One of my favourite pieces, Bromance, shows two men in an embrace - strong, masculine, and tender. It invites the viewer to decide the nature of their connection. That’s what my art is about: emotion, ambiguity, and connection.

My ambition is for others to connect with my artwork and discovery their own stories within the pieces.
