About Me — Mark Campbell‑Blake, Cardiff Based Digital Artist

Hi, I’m Mark, a self‑taught digital artist based in Cardiff, Wales. After a long career in accountancy and a difficult period of mental health recovery, I discovered a new sense of purpose through creating art. What began as a small project making postcards and canvas prints has grown into a passion for producing hand‑drawn digital artwork and digital art prints inspired by psychology, emotion, and the landscapes of Wales.

I create every piece by hand on an iPad Pro using Apple Pencil, no AI, no filters, just freehand digital painting. My work ranges from scenic Welsh landscapes to bold psychology‑inspired pieces, as well as geek‑influenced and gender & sexuality artwork. Each artwork reflects my journey, my identity, and the way I see the world.

Art became my therapy, a way to express myself, find calm, and reconnect with life. Today, under the name maccb71Art, I create digital art prints designed to evoke connection, reflection, and presence. You can explore my Psychology Portfolio, Landscape Portfolio, or browse my full collection of digital art prints in the shop.

What I Want My Art to Do

I want my art to spark imagination, create conversation, and invite connection. Whether you’re drawn to the serenity of a coastal town or the complexity of the human psyche, I hope my work gives you a moment of recognition — that quiet feeling of “yes, I know this.”

Art should make you feel something. Art should make you think. Art should make you pause.

If my work does any of those things for you, then it has done its job.

Limited Editions & Craftsmanship

All artworks are limited to a run of 100 pieces or fewer unless otherwise stated. Each print is produced to order, overseen personally by me, and shipped directly. A Certificate of Authenticity is sent separately.

This isn’t mass‑produced art. It’s personal. It’s crafted. It’s meant to be lived with.

Window model

My first Psychology artwork piece, and one of my best selling pieces.

From outline sketch to detailed grading through to colourisation, this emotional piece was hand-crafted on my iPad. Inspired by a long term friend, the Window Model sits contemplating - is it about the past, future or the day ahead - his thoughts between him and the view from the window.

Falkirk Wheel

The Falkirk Wheel is a truly inspirational piece of millennial architecture and engineering.

While my initial drawings reflect the precision of the engineering involved in building this magnificent structure while this is softened by my use of pastel, watercolour style colours - demonstrating how the structure blends with the natural surroundings effortlessly.

Prepared

The preparation an athlete has put in throughout their training - weight-training, cardio, flexibility, sport specific - before the actual event all condenses into that final moment of being Prepared.

Inspired by the muscular form of this athlete, the piece reflects on the mental psyche conflicts, overlaps, integrations and measures with the physical.
